PHENO_MaizE project among 97 projects approved for funding by the ScienceFund of the Republic of Serbia
Pheno_MaiE Project entitled “High-throughput field phenotyping in temperate maize hybrid breeding: how can phenomics improve speed and accuracy of selection?” (PHENO_MaizE) is among the 97 studies approved for funding by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, through the Prisma program. Maize Research Institute Zemun Polje (MRIZP) is the project coordinator with a dedicated team of six researchers, and an external collaborator from Agriculture Institute Osijek. PHENO_MaizE project will explore the use of drone-based imaging in temperate hybrid maize breeding programs.
By investigating drone-based imaging technologies, PHENO_MaizE aims to modernize traditional methods and improve maize breeding programs’ efficiency. This research not only benefits local agriculture but also contributes to broader discussions on agricultural innovation and sustainability. Follow our page for updates on PHENO_MaizE’s progress as we embark on this transformative journey to advance maize breeding practices.
